A new Miss Universe was crowned out of 84 beauty queens in New Orleans, Louisiana. Harnaz Sindhu, the representative from India and the title holder from last year, crowned America’s R Bonnie Gabriel as the new Miss Universe.
The second runner-up was Andrea Martinez Fovnier of the Dominican Republic and the first runner-up was Amanda Dudamel of Venezuela.
Gabrielle is a fashion designer, model and sewing instructor. She received her bachelor’s degree in fashion design with a minor in fibers from the University of North Texas. Gabrielle is also the CEO of her own sustainable clothing line. The beauty queen is the first Filipina-American to win Miss USA and according to her Official bioits “mission is for women and young girls to see themselves in, and be inspired to achieve their goals in, who they are.”
The night began with the top 16 contestants being revealed after the preliminary competition.
Top 16: Ashley Carew (Puerto Rico), Madeleine Felizor (Haiti), Monique Riley (Australia), Andrea Martinez Fovnier (Dominican Republic), Piengza Lore (Laos), Ndwi Nokiri (South Africa), Talma Madeira (Portugal), Amelia Tu ( Canada), Alicia Rovigno (Peru), Tia Jenni Ramey (Trinidad and Tobago), Gabriela dos Santos (Curacao), Davita Roy (India), Amanda Dudamel (Venezuela), Alicia Fauble (Spain), Rebonne Gabriel (USA) and Maria Fernanda Erstezbal (Colombia).
After the pageant of beauty queens in evening gowns and bathing suits, Top 5 The following were disclosed: Amanda Dudamel (Venezuela), Rebonne Gabriel (USA), Ashley Carew (Puerto Rico), Gabriela dos Santos (Curaçao) and Andrea Martínez Founier (Dominican Republic).

It was also announced that the next edition of Miss Universe will be hosted in El Salvador.
