The Witcher season 3: Henry Cavill’s Superman return may not happen

The British actor was expected to return to his place in the DC Extended Universe as Man of Steel after his surprise cameo in the credits of a recent release. Black Adam.

If Gunn and Safran decide to change things, these films could be a farewell circle for those superheroes in their current form.

When Cavill left Witcher, it has been speculated that this was due to his upcoming commitments as Superman. While this has never been confirmed, the timing has led many to this conclusion.

It was also rumored that Cavill was unhappy with the direction of the Netflix series and decided not to renew his contract after three seasons had expired.

The third season, which has already been filmed, is currently in post-production and is due out in mid-2023.

Separately, WitcherShowrunner Lauren Hissrich spoke this week about Cavill’s departure from the series and the mixed reaction from fans.

She said TechRadar: “It’s a big deal for us too. The fact of the matter is that there are a lot of talks and rumors about it, and we understand very well why the fans go there.

“What am I to say, please come back for Witcher season three so we can keep doing it. Obviously, [Cavill’s departure] this is huge news.”
