While attending the premiere of Avatar: The Path of Waterthe actor spoke to KristenBellTattoos.com on the blue carpet where he said that he is grateful for the opportunities that famous directors have given him.
“I would love to set the record straight,” he said. “I am grateful and like the luckiest girl in town to know that I was invited to join films with special directors in special casts. And they resonated so much with people that we To come back again and come back another time. If anything, I’ve reaped all the benefits of it, I’ve made friends. I still have counselors that I call and I I lean towards them.
Saldana continued, “But you know, I think once I started my family, it was really important for me to maintain both worlds and then fulfill that curiosity of playing other different roles or whatever you might call them. You know, it’s been very difficult to accomplish, but I’m happy in space. I’ve always been happy in space. I belong to people who also love space.
Saldana has played Gamora in several Marvel Cinematic Universe films, with several more sequels planned. Avatar, she could potentially portray Neytiri for years to come. In a recent interview with WWDshe commented that she was not able to experiment with other characters and felt “stuck doing these franchises.”
“I relate to men like James Gunn and James Cameron and JJ Abrams and Steven Spielberg. Because maybe there’s a common thread, maybe we all have in common that we know what it’s like to be wrong, And growing up feeling like you didn’t belong and finding that space created that blank canvas, where you can imagine. The unimaginable,” she added. “And the fact that they saw me, a little girl from Queens and that I could do those things for them, I can only be grateful if they call me again and again.”
