In total, Cheers produced 275 episodes between 1982 and 1993. It may be hard to believe due to the program’s long history, but three longtime characters have appeared in each issue – Ted Danson, Rhea Perlman, and George Wendt (via IMDb). In an interview in 2022 PeoplePearlman reflected on her longevity on the sitcom, stating, “I remember we were all thinking, ‘Should we work one more year?’ Has it been 11 years? She then recounted how George Wendt shared her love of work and told the Matilda actress, “If someone gives you a present every year, aren’t you going to take it next year? Why not?”
Ted Danson has also shared his love for the series and the character since his departure from NBC in 1993. In a 2022 interview with ET online Discussing the 40th anniversary of the TV comedy’s premiere, he stated, “Unbelievable. I remember I was 35 years old when I started, it’s always a good memory.” The Pontiac of the Moon star then jokingly recalled that he had brown hair when the series began. Later in an interview, Danson shared, “The reason we’re talking, the reason I’m sitting next to [Holly Hunter] it’s because of Cheers. Everything I do is related to the popularity of this show.” After a grueling 11-year schedule and nearly 30 years, all three actors clearly enjoyed their Cheers experience.
