Case is closed. Cast Ryan JohnsonX Glass Bow: Mystery of Knives proved that they were all guilty of being extremely fashionable on the red carpet of the Critics’ Choice Awards 2023.
Netflix movie earned six nominations at the 28th Annual Awards, including Best Picture, Best Ensemble Cast, Best Comedy and Best Supporting Actress. To celebrate their achievements in cinema, colleagues Keith Hudson, Janelle Monae and Madeleine Kline dressed to impress on the red carpet on Sunday, January 15th.
In addition to receiving glass bowThe 37-year-old singer from Tightrope, the only individual acting job, received Sunday’s SeeHer Award for her contribution to the defense of gender equality. Hudson, 43, presented this honor to her partner.
“I remember the moment we met at glass bow, Janelle came down these stairs in a bright yellow dress, just exuding like a goddess, regal energy, ”Hudson said during the awards ceremony. “And it was as if the seas parted, everyone’s jaws dropped, and the audience instantly fell in love. It’s hard not to.”
In film, Daniel Craig portrays Detective Benoit Blanc, the role he played in the 2019 film Knives Out. A detective is taken to a private island in Greece to find out who killed someone in the tech mogul’s group of close friends. Edward Norton, Katherine Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick and Dave Batista also a star.
While the entire cast is stunning in real life, it was Birdie Jay Hudson who was the film’s fashionista. She drew attention to herself with her bold colors and artfully chosen outfits. Costume designer Jenny Egan said that all of the outfits showed the character’s confidence, including Andrea Iyama’s orange bikini.
“It was so bold. Nothing that I will ever put on my body, but with Birdie herself and Kate, her confidence [in] that bikini was enough to push this character even more,” Egan said enthusiastically. Netflix Tudum earlier this month. “Who will go on vacation to your friend and bring this bikini, except for this one? In your silk coat! And everything matched – the hats were all made for her. So it started with the bikini and then everything else fell into place so naturally. She has the most looks because she randomly changes [outfits]. She’s wearing a robe in another scene for no reason, but it’s also fun.”
However, 43-year-old Hudson didn’t have much fun getting ready for the swimsuit scene. While her Glass Bow: Mystery of Knives co-stars entertained during filming, much of which was filmed in Europe, Hudson abstained from alcohol until the poolside scene.
“Well, while everyone was drinking Aperol in Greece, I was just waiting for this scene to be filmed so I could just join in with everyone,” the Fabletics founder explained during an appearance on British talk show This Morning last month.
Hudson joked, “Everyone had a great time and I said, ‘I’ll take this cucumber and feta.’
