Stephen King Says MyPillow Will Be Twitter’s “Only Advertiser” & Elon Musk Reacts –

Stephen King is back to calling out Twitter’s new direction as Elon Musk takes the reins of the company. This time, the best-selling author takes a look at what will happen to social media platform advertisers after many companies curb their spending.

“Soon the only advertiser on Twitter will be my pillow,” King Tweeted.

Musk saw the tweet and replied, “Oh hi lol.”

In a follow-up tweet, Musk said he was “curious” about the quality of the MyPillow, asking if it was “really a great pillow.” Without saying enough, Musk then predicted a headline that could arise after the exchange between the two, tweeting, “Headline: ‘Stephen King tweet causes my pillow sales to skyrocket!’ Come on.”

King did not interact with any of Musk’s tweets after his initial message. However, this was not the first time that the two have clashed on the platform. In October, King protested Musk’s plans to charge customers $20 to get a blue checkmark.

“$20 a month to keep my blue check? F**k that, they pay me. I’m going to go like Enron if this goes through,” King tweeted.

Musk responded with a counter proposal and raised the subscription price to $8.

“We need to pay the bills somehow! Twitter can’t rely entirely on advertisers. How about $8?” Musk tweeted.

Twitter users can now get a blue icon next to their username when they subscribe to Twitter Blue for $8 a month. However, when the option became available, many people used it to impersonate other companies and it got out of control. The feature has been shelved and Musk recently revealed that it was further delayed.

“Blue is holding off on the relaunch of Verified until there is greater confidence in preventing spoofing,” he said. said. “Probably will use different color checks for organizations than for individuals.”
