Sister Wives Mary Brown and Cody Brown split after 32 years

There is no more polygamy. wife’s sisters stars Mary Brown as well as Cody Brown separated after 32 years of marriage.

“I don’t actually consider myself married to Mary,” the 53-year-old patriarch of the Brown family said in an excerpt from the upcoming Sister Wives: One on One specially received People on Thursday, December 15th. “If she wanted to leave and marry someone else, she wouldn’t argue with me.”

Mary, 51, confirmed the couple’s split, saying she and her husband never discussed their breakup before Cody said he no longer “considered” them married.

“It just doesn’t make sense to me that he would be so upset about Christine [Brown] and say, “She just made that decision. We didn’t consult. We didn’t talk. … And then he says, “No, I don’t consider myself married to Mary,” Mary said in an excerpt from the special, which airs on Sunday, December 18th. “He just made a decision. I never heard him say that to me.”

Mary also insisted that after the family, which also includes Janelle Brown as well as Robin Brown – moved from Las Vegas to Flagstaff, Arizona in 2018, she thought she saw progress in her and Cody’s relationship. (Kristin, 50, announced her split from Cody in November 2021. Janelle, meanwhile, confirmed in December that she was “separated for several months” from the polygamist.)

“Even since he was in Flagstaff, he made me believe he was trying,” she said. Sukanya Krishnan. “Our first anniversary, which we celebrated here in Flagstaff, [he said]”Welcome to a new beginning.”

California native who shares Leon, 27, with Cody, noted that their dynamics became extremely fragmented in later years. “Unlike this last anniversary, he’s like, ‘I don’t even know why you called me Mary.’ He’s like, “We’re not married. We don’t act like married people,” Mary said. “And I said to him then: ‘If we are like that, don’t you think that we should discuss it publicly?’

She claimed that the Wyoming native did not want to “address it” and told her, “I don’t want this to be made public because I don’t want this judgment.”

Mary officially married Cody in 1990, becoming his first wife. The couple divorced in 2014 so the patriarch could legally marry his fourth wife Robin and adopt her children from a previous marriage. Mary and Cody are currently in a spiritual union, but have been living very different lives for many years.

“He’s already made up his mind,” Mary said when asked what Cody’s comments mean. “I would [think about reconciliation]. I don’t think he’s interested.”

After Kristin, Janelle and Mary split from Cody, the only remaining wife-sister of the Wyoming native was 44-year-old Robin. The duo got married spiritually in 2010 before officially tying the knot four years later.
