Musical documentary Silent Night—A Song for the World Reruns on November 26th at 8 pm ET on The CW. An encore presentation is scheduled for December 8 at 8pm ET.
Described by Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville, silent night Tells the story behind the titular song written and composed by Josef Mohr and Franz Gruber in 1818.
The special also features musical performances by Kelly Clarkson, David Foster, Kathryn McPhee, Joss Stone, Gavin Rossdale, Shelia, Ellie, Josh Groban, The Vienna Boys Choir, Inggan, Lena McCall, The Tenors, Rolando Villazon, and more. . John Rhys Davies will star.
The film chronicles the creation and cultural impact of the iconic Christmas carol, which has now been translated into 350 languages. Remixes of songs by popular contemporary artists such as Grobin, Mariah Carey, Elvis Presley, Nat King Cole, and The Temptations have charted internationally over the years.
