Prince Harry ‘not welcome’ at coronation, senior royals fear what they say will ‘end up in paperback’

Concerns arose after an online survey Sun found that 78% of the 31,300 readers want the California couple to stay away from the historic day.

Princess Anne and Prince Edward are guaranteed to be at the ceremony alongside their partners Vice Admiral Tim Lawrence, 67, and Countess Sophie of Wessex, 57.

Harry was paid around $40 million for a four-book contract, and his first memoir is about private backstage conversations with his family.

In the 407-page book, which was released earlier this week but leaked last Friday, the privacy of virtually no member of the British royal family was spared.

Readers were stunned by his stories of fighting William in the kitchen and talking to his older brother, sister and father.

Last year, Meghan, 41, won a High Court case after a newspaper printed excerpts from a “private” letter she wrote to her ex-father, Thomas Markle.

But Harry didn’t seem to have the same privacy concerns when he shared text messages Kate apparently sent to his wife while trying on a bridesmaid dress.

He writes that Kate texted Meghan to say, “Charlotte’s dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on at home.”

The lyrics are at the heart of conflicting stories about who made who cry, which neither Kate nor William ever talked about.

Elsewhere, among the high-profile statements, Harry details personal conversations with William and Charles during negotiations at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, just an hour after Prince Philip’s funeral.

He documents a confrontation with William over the Sussexes’ interview with Oprah Winfrey, and describes his father pleading with his sons, “Please, boys, don’t make my final years misery.”

And he types a frosty telephone conversation with his father, stunned by the news that the queen is close to death.

Harry writes that he called Charles, who “told me that I was welcome at Balmoral, but … without her (Meghan).”

The memoir adds: “He started to explain his reasons, but they didn’t make any sense and it was disrespectful.

“I couldn’t stand it from him, don’t even think about talking about my wife like that.”

Elsewhere this week, Harry said he wants “reconciliation” talks with his family.

He told ITV’s Tom Bradby: “I would like my father back, I would like my brother back.”

But he said he would now only speak to them again if it remained confidential.

Last month, we learned that Charles stopped answering Harry’s phone calls and asked him to email his personal assistant any inquiries.

According to insiders, consultants warned Charles that any phone calls or video chats could be recorded and used by Harry for his Netflix series.

Another source said: “There was a sense of concern on Charles’s part that anything discussed could be repeated or used in content that Harry would make public.”

In another TV interview about the USA 60 minutesHarry admitted that he had not spoken to either Charles or William or the Queen Consort Camilla for a long time.

It is clear that the final list of guests for the coronation has not yet been determined.

When Charles is crowned along with Camilla on May 6, there will be about 2,000 people in Westminster Abbey.
