Prince Harry has made explosive new claims about his infamous crisis meeting with the royal family, accusing his brother of ‘screaming and yelling’ at him when the group discussed the plan for him to leave office.
In early 2020, just days after he and Meghan Markle released a sensational statement announcing their intention to pursue financial independence and live outside the UK, an emergency conference was organized between Harry, the Queen, Prince Charles and Prince William called the Sandringham Summit.
The whole world was watching, but the exact details of what happened behind closed doors were never revealed by the members of the royal family who were in the room…until now.
In the fifth episode of his new Netflix documentary series, Harry spoke directly about the incredibly intense family reunion that took place at the royal estate, where he once had “such happy memories.”
“I came up with the same offer that we had already made publicly, but as soon as we received it, I was presented with five options: one – everything, no changes; five being, all. At the meeting, I chose the third option: half in, half out. Have your own job, but also work in support of the queen. But very quickly it became clear that this goal was non-negotiable or negotiable,” said Harry.
“It was very scary when my brother (Prince William) yelled and yelled at me and my father (then Prince Charles) said things that just weren’t true and my grandmother sat quietly and kind of took it. all in.
“But you have to understand that from the point of view of the family, especially her, there are ways to do things, and her ultimate mission, goal, reduction of responsibility is an institution.”
Harry also hinted that the late queen relied heavily on the advice of those around her.
“People around her tell her, ‘By the way, this proposal or these two doing X, Y, Z will be seen as an att*ck on the institution’ — then she will follow the advice she was given. “.
Harry’s stunning accusation of joint statement with William
The shocking new details about Harry’s run-in with his family are far from the only startling revelations in the film’s second half. Megan and Harry series of documents.
The Duke of Suss*x also sensationally accused Kensington Palace, in particular his brother’s press office, of publishing a statement signed by him jointly without his knowledge or consent.
“As soon as I got into the car, after the (Sandringham) meeting, I was told about a joint statement that had been made on my behalf and on behalf of my brother, refuting the story that he was bullying us from the family.”
He was referring to a newspaper article published at the time that claimed that William was “bullying” Harry and Meghan, causing them to be “pushed away” from the royal family.
A rebuttal statement released on 13 January read: “Despite the apparent denials, a false story was published in a British newspaper today that talked about a relationship between the Duke of Suss*x and the Duke of Cambridge.
“For brothers who care so deeply about mental health issues, this use of inflammatory language is offensive and potentially harmful.”
Harry admitted that he “couldn’t believe it” when he read the statement, which was apparently signed by himself.
“Nobody asked me. No one asked me for permission to put my name on such a statement. And I called (Meghan) and told her and she burst into tears,” he said.
“Because for four hours they were happy to lie to protect my brother, and yet for three years they never wanted to tell the truth to protect us.”
Then in the documentary, Meghan chimed in: “Suddenly, it clicked in my head, ‘This will never stop. Every rumor, every negative, every lie that I knew was not true – and the Palace knew it was not true – it just allowed to fester.”
Harry added: “At the moment there was no other choice. I said, “We need to get out of here.”

While the Harry and Meghan docu-series drew criticism for its content, it proved to be a ratings hit for Netflix.
Less than a week later Harry and Megan has already broken the streaming giant’s record for the biggest non-fiction debut, with 81.55 million hours watched.
The show also appeared in the top 10 Netflix category in 85 countries and, unsurprisingly, became a number one hit in the UK.
Today’s new revelations came after the first three episodes Harry and Meganaired last Thursday, revealing a number of new details about the couple’s early days of relationship.
Meghan and Harry met on Instagram.
In the first episode, Meghan and Harry revealed the truth about how they met, which is a bit of a contradiction to what the Duke said earlier.
Harry told the BBC in 2017: “It was definitely a set-up – it was a blind date. It was definitely a blind date.”
But in the first episode, released last week, Harry said, “We met on Instagram.
“I was going through my feed and someone who was a friend had this video of the two of them and I was like, ‘Who is that?’
Meghan was in London to attend Wimbledon and met Harry at a bar – and their romance almost ended before it even started when Harry was too late.
“I didn’t know him,” Megan said. “So [when he was late] it’s like “Oh, is that what he does?” No, I don’t. Guys who have so much selfishness that you think any girl would sit and wait for you for half an hour, I just didn’t care.”
But when Harry showed up red-faced, sweaty and visibly distressed at being late, Meghan forgave him and the rest is history.
Harry’s subtle allusion to Kate
In the first episode, Harry mentioned his sister-in-law, the Princess of Wales, discussing how his relationship with Meghan differed from what the royal family expected.
He said: “I think that so many family members, especially men, may be tempted or willing to marry someone who fits the mold, and not someone you might be destined to be with.”
Harry Meghan paparazzi warning
On the second episode of the highly anticipated series, Meghan explained that during the early days of their relationship, when she was still living in Toronto and filming Suitsshe ran into a pack of “9 or 10” paparazzi as she left the flower shop.
“They all kind of blocked the cars, asking, ‘Hey, how are you Megan?
The next day, she told the filmmakers, she received very strict instructions from her new boyfriend.
“I remember (Harry) saying the next day, ‘You can’t talk to them,'” Meghan said.
“And I said, ‘I’m just trying to be nice, I don’t know what to do, I’ve never dealt with this before,’ and he said, ‘Yeah, but the British media say you love it.’ You are smiling. You love it.”
“Explosion”: first meeting with William and Kate
Also on the second episode, Meghan revealed the details of her “amazing” first meeting with Kate.
She said, “Even when Will and Kate arrived and I met her for the first time.
“I was in ripped jeans and barefoot.
“I am a hugger, I have always hugged. I didn’t know it could annoy a lot of Brits.”
“I think I very quickly began to understand that the formalities that go out are carried out inside.
“That there is a way to be front facing, then you close the door and go, ugh great, now we can relax.
“But this formality is maintained on both sides, and that surprised me.”
‘A little weird’: Meghan’s first meeting with Queen Elizabeth II
In the second episode, Meghan and Harry also revealed new details about her first meeting with his grandmother, the late Queen, with Harry admitting the situation was a bit “weird”.
“(Meghan) had no idea what it was all about, so it was a bit of a shock to the system for her,” he said.
“How do you explain (to people) to bow to their grandmother? And that they will need to curtsy? Especially for an American, it’s strange.”
Meghan described the “surreal” and unexpected moment when she realized she was going to meet the monarch and that it was a last-minute planted on her by her then-boyfriend.
“We were in the car and we were going to have lunch at the Royal Lodge, and he was like, ‘Oh, my grandma is here – she will be there after church,’” she recalls.
“And I remember how a car drove up, he says:“ You know how to squat, right? And I thought it was a joke.”
2017 engagement interview was ‘rehearsed’
Meghan chuckled at a flashback of her and Harry’s 2017 BBC royal engagement in the third episode of the couple’s Netflix documentary series.
The episode began with a flashback to Meghan and Harry’s memorable first TV appearance, which Meghan called “a staged reality show,” revealing that from their adorable photo op to their sit-down conversation, everything about the ad was “rehearsed.”
According to Meghan, from the beginning, they were “not allowed” to tell their true story when faced with questions about their relationship.
