Prime Video today announced that it will produce a new film in association with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Love Media Collective for theatrical release. The currently untitled film is slated to hit theaters on July 28, 2023. After its theatrical release, the film will be available for streaming on Prime worldwide.
The flick is the second theatrical co-production launched by Prime Video with Dharma Productions. Leo Media Collective is a co-producer. The film stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead role and is directed by Anand Tiwari. Tripathi Dumri and Amy Work also feature. The producers are Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Amritpal Singh Bandra, and Anand Tiwari.
Amazon has steadily made inroads in India. Earlier this year, the company lined up a 40-strong slate of original TV series and films, including 22 scripted series and four films, plus multi-year licensing deals with major Indian producers, such as Dharma Productions and Yash Raj Films. .
