Pierce Brosnan once saved Halle Berry from choking during a disastrous Bond scene.

Halle Berry opened up about an incident that happened while filming a love scene, no less, during a 2020 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Judging from the way she presented the story as an embarrassing failure in a proper seductive presentation instead of a traumatic near-death experience, thankfully it doesn’t look like she’s too overwhelmed by the incident these days. However, that doesn’t mean the accident wasn’t potentially life-threatening, given that Berry was indeed suffocating.

“I once filmed a scene with Pierce Brosnan in Die Another Day,” she described the incident. “I had to be sexy and try to seduce him with figs, and then I choked on it.”

Understandably, no one on set was physically closer to Berry than Brosnan was when she began to choke. As it turned out, he immediately understood what to do and took control of the situation. “He had to get up and do Heimlich [manoeuver]Berry said. “It was so unsexy, so unsexy!”

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Berry has a lot of respect for Brosnan and quite happily cast her resourceful co-star as the hero of the story. “You should have seen it!” Berry said. “As James Bond knows how Heimlich. [Brosnan] was there for me. He will always be one of my favorite people in the world.”

While Berry is clearly grateful for Brosnan’s quick wits and actions during the fig incident, there’s a very good chance she’s not exaggerating when she considers him her favorite person, as the pair seem to be on really good terms. In fact, back during a 2002 promotional performance at “The Larry King Show” CNN, Brosnan himself confirmed that he and Berry became great friends during filming.
