“A violent man broke into our family home, demanded a fight from me and brutally att*cked my husband, Paul,” Nancy said.
“Our children, our grandchildren and I are heartbroken and traumatized by the fatal att*ck on our pop.
“We are grateful for the quick response and life-saving medical care provided by law enforcement and emergency services.
“Please know that the outpouring of prayers and well-wishes from many in Congress is a comfort to our family and is helping Paul make progress with his recovery,” he said.
Paul was hospitalized but is expected to make a full recovery.
San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins charged DePepe with attempted m*rder.
He also faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse, residential burglary, false imprisonment, and endangering life or great bodily harm to a public official.
Jenkins Tweeted: “DePape will be held accountable for his violent and despicable att*ck, and we will prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law.
“When citizens of our city are victims of crime, we will hold criminals accountable for their actions and work to bring justice to all.”
More details of the att*ck have come to light thanks to an FBI criminal complaint.
“During the interview, De Pape made it clear that he sees Nancy as the ‘leader of the pack’ of lies in the Democratic Party,” he said.
“DePape later explained that after Nancy broke her knees, she would have to take it to Congress, which would show other members of Congress that actions had consequences.”
And now, Paul has been seen in public for the first time since the att*ck.
He and Nancy attended the 45th Kennedy Center Honors on Sunday to celebrate the honorees’ achievements.
