Mahomes and Matthews first broke the exciting news about baby #2 in May. “Round 2!” the two wrote via Instagram at the time. The couple, who tied the knot in March, shared a photo of themselves with Sterling holding a sign that read, “Big sister duties coming soon.”

The athlete later revealed how he and the fitness coach chose his son’s family name and his unique nickname.

“My brother Jackson [Mahomes], whenever we tried to find something a little bit unique and unusual, he would say: “What about bronze? It pairs perfectly with Sterling,” Mahomes told reporters on Wednesday, November 30. TMZreferring to his daughter. “So we went with that.”

The Super Bowl champion and founder of Brittany Lynne Fitness began dating in 2011 while still in high school. Despite attending different colleges in Texas, the couple continued their long-distance romance — a preview of what’s to come for the couple when Mahomes will join him. NFL in April 2017, and Matthews signed with the Icelandic professional football team. Two years later, they settled in the same place and bought a house together in Kansas City.

Mahomes proposed to his longtime love in September 2020 after receiving the championship ring at the 2019 Super Bowl. That same month, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child. Nearly two years later, Mahomes and Matthews exchanged vows in Hawaii, where Sterling was their flower girl.
