Melissa McCarthy strolls down Memory Lane in Stars Hollow and we feel as nostalgic as she does.
in honor of Gilmore girls 22nd Anniversary, McCarthy shared a sweet tribute to her former co-stars and a lifetime GUARANTEED VICTORY fans on her instagram. The star, who played Sookie opposite Lorelai (Lorelai) Lauren Graham, posted a photo of the two women on set two decades ago, hugging each other tightly, writing, “Happy season of the starry void to all those celebrating!! How was it 22 years ago?!
The nostalgia of the hilarious actress didn’t end there,” McCarthy shared. another postthis time with a photo of himself, Graham, and actor Janick Truesdale, who played the snarky but sweet concierge Michel.
In her caption, she wrote about a funny behind-the-scenes moment, sharing, “I remember someone (accidentally) saying Janick’s French accent is terrible – we laughed so hard – he only spoke English for about 10 months. All his life he spoke ONLY French. She added with a laugh, “Besides, I had no idea I was that short?!”
And if you thought her Stars Hollow musings were over, rejoice: McCarthy shared last photoit’s her and Graham at Luke’s favorite diner, with a loving on-screen greeting to his best friend: “I have no idea how LG did all that dialogue – she was amazing!!”
in a very appropriate Gilmore girls fashion where McCarthy led, Truesdale followed his own nostalgic post in honor of the show’s anniversary. Along with a screenshot of the three actors playing roles in the scene, Truesdale wrote, “Happy birthday Gilmore girls! Is it already 22 years old?! What a blessing that these two wonderful ladies have become friends for life!”
The three co-stars, who became lifelong friends, starred together for all seven seasons of the series. Gilmore girls, along with Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Emily Bishop and the late Edward Herrmann. Milo Ventimiglia and Jared Padalecki also had semi-regular roles on the cult classic television series, both playing the love interests of Rory from Bledel.
The cast returned in 2016 Gilmore girls a four-part revival on Netflix where McCarthy returns at the last minute, something she previously wasn’t sure she could commit to.
She said People in that year: “For a long time it just didn’t work on schedule. And as soon as we decided if there was any possible way, something fell out for me, something changed for them, and then we immediately grabbed it, “continuing:” I came back and visited about two weeks ago and again I saw the scenery and everyone on them. . My God, that was so sad. I got so sentimental.”
We’re right there with McCarthy in our happy-sad feelings as the actors celebrate their 22nd birthday, but we really wouldn’t have it any other way.
