“I had to clean the theater.”
music icon, whose instagram photoshoot The art, the activism, the style, and apparently even Paul Thomas Anderson’s directing expertise—have turned heads online more than once recently, if nothing else.
You’re probably seeing the filmmaker’s name in your newsfeed right now as his new movie, Licorice Pizza, prepares for its full theatrical release in late December. The coming-of-age drama, which stars Alana Haim, Sean Penn, Cooper Hoffman and Bradley Cooper, is up for four awards at the Golden Globes.
Anyway, it looks like Madonna caught an early screening of the film this week. And according to the singer’s latest social media post, looking Licorice Pizza was going so well that the experience forced him to lift a mop and scrub the theater floor when the credits rolled.
I’m not kidding, and of course, there are photos to prove it:
“Watched the movie Licorice Pizza! Omgggggggggggg!!” the mother of jesus Caption A carousel of pictures showed her wearing red leather gloves, along with a bucket hat with “high” sewn into the crown, while striking various poses in what looked like an upscale screening venue.
“Felt so inspired I had to clean the theatre,” the caption continued. And yes, in one of these photos, Madonna is literally using a mop to mop the floor.
According to critics, Licorice Pizza Truly an impressive work of cinema. Something tells me the custodial portrait of the Madonna was staged for eccentricity, but here’s hoping the theater’s general staff took a night off after her show.
