France’s Les Arcs film festival has unveiled 15 European feature film projects that will be presented in its Works in Progress showcase as part of its industry program running from December 1-10.
Selected projects were selected from 160 submissions this year.
Included in the line-up. Rosa SperanzaItalian director Inarita Zambrano’s second film, his first feature. After the war The world premiere took place at Cannes in 2017 in Certain Regard.
Set in the 1980s, the dark comedy revolves around a group of teenagers who meet at an institution for wayward rich kids.
Other projects in the mix include Peruvian specialty Fugue By director duo Mary Jimenez and Benedict Lennard, whose previous collaborations include the award-winning documentary. By the name of Tanya.
The work-in-progress showcase aims to connect properties in post-production with sales agents, distributors and festival programmers.
Thirteen of the projects will compete for a €10,000 post-production prize, a €5,000 digital marketing prize, and a €10,000 award to finance the production of an original composition.
The showcase runs within the framework of the Les Arcs Industry Village including the Co-Production Village, which will feature 18 development projects. The Talent Village supports emerging filmmakers, and the Music Village fosters connections between the worlds of music and cinema.
