The sit-in followed a Thursday reading that drew a large crowd at the Indianapolis Public Library — though the library disputed attendance figures provided by publisher Brew Books and repeated by Cameron on air.
Former Growing pains The star told FNC interviewer Julie Banderas that more than 50 libraries across the country have refused to host readings of her Bible-themed book. He said the book is about “biblical wisdom and the fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, self-control.”
Brave books. Tweeted Thursday that the Indianapolis event drew “more than 2,500 people,” calling it a record crowd in the library’s 137-year history. The library disagreed that today, Tweeting that his estimated door number for “room rentals” was “about 750, not 2,500. We’ve had big events. We’re 150 in 2023. And our auditorium, which our guests Chose not to rent, not 2000 but 300.”
Fox News showed a pitch letter from Brave Books to a New York library that said Cameron would “talk to families about practicing biblical wisdom, as well as the dangers of revivalist ideologies,” during his private readings. Earlier this week, Cameron threatened legal action against libraries that refused to host readings, calling them out for being willing to host “drag queen story hours for young children”. . On Friday, he pulled out a pocket copy of the Constitution as he spoke about rights “I will assert in court.”
In the interview, Banderas also stated that his own book was published by Brave Books, and at one point referred to “us” when discussing the publisher’s response to a library’s refusal to host Story Hour.
