Khloe Kardashian’s face has changed so much that you can’t even tell if it’s her. In her latest photoshoot for sorbetshe looks more like Taylor Swift than herself.
These images make me feel completely overwhelmed and I can’t get rid of this feeling.
The internet reacted in shock to Chloe’s unrecognizable transformation, but I’m not at all surprised.
I realize it’s rather unsettling that Chloe doesn’t look like Chloe, but of course everyone should have expected that.
That’s what happens when you tear apart a woman’s body and look for years and years. Khloe Kardashian has spent over a decade navigating the media, which has called her the least attractive sister. Of course, she would like to change herself.
There is nothing new in this story.
Renee Zellweger, known for her acting Bridget Jones in the blockbuster trilogy, she established herself as a real star in this role, but she also gained weight to play the main character, who was positioned as a chubby girl.
Naturally, once the role ended, she became infamous for being very skinny.
I have no moral judgment on this, I’m just pointing out that when women’s bodies are discussed negatively or come under too much scrutiny, it makes perfect sense that they take steps to change their bodies.
So while Khloe’s new look may be more controversial than just shedding a few pounds, it shouldn’t come as a shock.
I am a fan of Khloe Kardashian. I even watched her reality show about her married life with Lamar Odom. (Before it became clear that he was a serial cheater, even Kris Jenner couldn’t fix this relationship.)
For me, Khloe was the Kardashian sister I most identified with. She was funny, with a darker sense of humor, and also bigger.
I have also watched how Chloe’s face and body have changed drastically over the past few years. I’ve seen her size shrink, her nose reshape, and her Instagram photos become so heavily edited that she looks more like a cartoon than a woman.
In 2015, Amy Schumer opened Saturday night life with a scandalous joke about Chloe, saying: “We have to be a role model for these little girls, because who do they have? All they have, literally, is a Kardashian.
“And it seems like we had Chloe. Chloe was ours, right? But then Chloe lost half her weight. Khloe lost Kendall and we have nothing.”
The joke was met with backlash due to the weight talk, but I also realized what Schumer was trying to convey. Khloe has changed so much that her fans who have identified with her will now go out of their way to connect with her.
Fast forward to 2023 and Schumer’s joke seems more relevant than ever. Where is Chloe?
I’d say she’s buried under incredible insecurities.
In 2021, Chloe made international headlines when she tried to remove an unedited photo of her in a bikini from the internet.
In response, she posted a very candid statement on Instagram: “The photo that was posted this week was beautiful. But as someone who has struggled with body image all his life, when someone takes a picture of you that doesn’t flatter you in low light or capture your body for what it is after working too hard to get it to this moment…and then share it with the whole world – you should have every right to ask that it not be shared – no matter who you are.
“To tell the truth, the pressure, constant ridicule and condemnation of my whole life to be perfect and meet other people’s standards of how I should look was unbearable. “Chloe is a fat sister.” “Chloe is an ugly sister.” “Her father shouldn’t be her real father because she looks so different.” “The only way she could lose weight was through surgery.”
“Should I continue? You will never get used to being judged, taken apart and told how unattractive you are, but I will say that if you hear something enough, then you start believing it. “This is an example of how I’ve been taught to feel like I’m not beautiful enough just by being myself.”
This is the grim reality. Chloe’s appearance was so dissected that she became too shy to even look like herself. And you know what? Even though she tried desperately to change her appearance to fit some beauty standard, her appearance is still ridiculed on the internet.
Do you know what this tells me? Women can’t win, and unfortunately for Chloe, that means no matter how she looks, she will always lose.
