Why talk to a human if you can talk to a cat, you know?
Sure, both species have a notorious reputation for their questionable decisions in life, but at least with a cat, you know where they stand, and you Sort of Expect it So, you can’t really take them for granted.
But I hesitate.
If anything, talking to a cat is fostering a closer relationship and it’s just as cute. And it allows you to get into unexpected, yet very entertaining (and by proxy, love-increasing) situations. Situations like your mind being blown by the fact that your cat can knock on the door.
Plot twist! It wasn’t a cat.

Meet the Reddit user Badam u/thatgirlagain17who recently shared a story of cute accidental mischief. r/TrueOffMyChest subreddit.
You see, Almond has a neighbor who, whenever he returns home from a hard day’s work, greets his little cat named Kevin with a “Hello, Kevin.” A kind of monotonous, business-like “Hello, Kevin.” Kevin reciprocates with a very similar one. Meow.
A Redditor recently shared something she needed to get off her chest — how she accidentally made her neighbor think her cat named Kevin could be knocking on the door.

Badam doesn’t know the neighbor — they’ve never spoken — but she can hear everything that happens in the communal hallway of their 4-unit building. And since she works from home, she also hears the neighbor’s “hello, Kevins.”
It is also important to note that his neighbor likes to participate in some recreational activities. Astro Turf. You can probably already guess where this is going.
Anyhow, with that in mind, one day, it starts with routine. The neighbor comes home. “Hello, Kevin.” A faint whisper of amusement begins to creep into OP’s house. Unlike most days, though, she starts listening to Kevin louder than usual. It seemed like he wasn’t reciprocating as much as he was trying to establish communication.
You see, his neighbor got a little high one day, and somehow managed to lock his cat outside, which ended in a game of Marco Polo, except “Kevin!” of the. and “meow”

After a while, she hears the neighbor calling for Kevin, as if trying to find him. oh Something is not right. The back and forth between human and cat continued until the OP decided to peek out the door. Kevin was outside the neighbor’s door, giving the cat the equivalent of “Let me in.” Meanwhile, her next-door neighbor was still inside the flat looking for her feline companion.
After assessing the situation—and the fact that the cat was likely going to have a hard time getting its owner’s attention behind a piece of entryway furniture—he decided to knock on the door. After that there was a pause. Then he heard a surprised and perhaps horrified voice “Why?!”
Badam hurried to his apartment and closed the door softly, only to hear his neighbor’s voice, high as a kite, open the door to the highest. Kind of amazingly stonedwhispering “How did you do it, Kevin?”
Well, the game ended with a knock on the door, which his out-of-mind neighbor thought Kevin was responsible for, but was actually all OP.

Needless to say, the neighbor was delighted to see Kevin in his own way, immediately asking “How did you do it, Kevin?”

Apparently it took a long time for the OP to recover from lung and cheek pain from laughing, imagining that her cat could do human things, ie knock.
KristenBellTattoos.com He approached Badam for an interview about an accidental prank on his neighbor.
“I hope he was at least 8. [out of 10] On a mind-blowing scale for a while,” Almond explained. “I would imagine that when he calmed down, he either realized that someone else in the building had knocked or that Kevin had pulled some weird trick. Now, the million dollar question is, will Almond do it again, or maybe she’ll get her act together?
“I don’t think I’d do it again, because it would make it a lot less mystical. The first time it happens, it’s a completely crazy experience, and repeating it would take some of the mystery away,” Almond said. . “My neighbor will just wonder what Kevin does. If it happens again, I’ll probably introduce myself this time. That was actually my plan the first time it happened, but hearing my neighbor knock on the door. How surprised I was, it forced my hijinks instincts to kick in.
He continued: “One commenter suggested sending a postcard/mail to Kevin at my neighbor’s apartment, and I think that would be really funny. It would surprise my neighbor that on earth Kevin Subscribed to Fisherman’s Monthly Magazine or received random postcards from around the world.
Now I’m tempted to do the same to the neighbor’s cat…
Nevertheless, Almond ended our interview by expressing his joy that so many people found joy in what was originally a thrilling moment: “It’s been a tough time all around, and I’m glad that some I managed to make people happy by sharing dumb stuff. I did it on a whim. ‘Hello Kevin’ has been a part of my life for almost a year now, and it’s just something silly that makes me happy. I think. That we need more of that in the world — the little things that make us smile.
