I just focused on who came, and then a couple of years went by and Colleen stopped coming. I thought maybe he just wants to do something with his mom or whatever, and then it became long-term.”
The chef later learned that Collin was being treated for behavior problems. In 2018, John expelled the teenager from the Fairmont Behavioral Health Institute. Colleen and his sister Hanna now live with their father.
“Happy birthday dad!!!!” Collin posted on Instagram. in April 2020, less than a week after Kate’s birthday. “To the coolest, most wonderful dad, and to the one who is always next to me, the one who always supports me, thank you very much and good luck!!!”
In November 2022, Collin opened up about his public ups and downs with his mother. “I came to the conclusion that everyone has their own plans, you know?” he told Entertainment Tonight at the time. “My mother had her own plans, and I don’t know exactly what they were. But I was in a difficult position, and my goal was to get out of this difficult position.

Collin’s father came out DailyMailTV about a teenager who was “locked in a cage” in a treatment center for three “inhuman” years.
John shared an alleged letter that his son had written to him. “Dear Dad, I am not trying to deceive you, but I still love you,” the note said. – I told my mother that I want to live with you, she refused. But is it so? She can’t choose for me. I’m old enough, I’m your son, not hers. She insulted me after I left your house. I’m really sorry. Sue because… you are my dad, my savior. … Please help me and let me meet collin [Conrad, Jon’s girlfriend]. I’m counting on you to get me out of here. Dad I love you. save me. Please come QUICKLY. I love you. Help me. GOODBYE.”

Colleen appears to have shaded his mom by texting only Conrad via Instagram for Mother’s Day. “It turns out today is Mother’s Day, today we express love to our mothers, but I don’t think a mother can describe all that Colleen has done for me,” he wrote. Yes, a mother dresses her children and cooks for them. but it’s the best feeling when your mother or mother figure is one of your best friends and always supports you, someone who always shares that laugh of humor that only you guys have.”
The teen added: “I could call it Mother’s Day, but it’s more than that Colleen, you are so much more than a mother to me, you are one of my landmarks and one of my guiding lights. Thank you is not enough, I love you so much and you have done so much for me that you are my strong, happy, loving and amazing mother, you are irreplaceable. Thank you so much Colleen, love you so much!!!”

On the same day, Kate took to social media to pay tribute to her gearies by captioning her Instagram post: “Happy 16th birthday to my half dozen ‘Hershey Kisses’ as they were called at birth! I love you so much! You are 6 years old. the sweetest things that have ever happened in my life!”

Kate intervened when Colleen accused John of abuse in an Instagram post that was deleted in September 2020. “You don’t hit or kick your kids,” she told People magazine at the time. “You can’t kick a child. I don’t want to hear any excuses from anyone, not from his father, not from local law enforcement, not from court officials whose job is supposedly to ensure the best interests of my children. There is a Child Abuse Act, PA 23, Section 8i, which states that any of the following, whether or not they cause injury, is child abuse, and the first on that list is kicking. Period.”
Subsequently, the Berks County Children and Youth Services opened an investigation into John. This was stated by District Attorney John Adams. Us no charges were brought against John at the time.

In a rare interview, Collin revealed how his time at the Fairmont Behavioral Health Institute ended his connection with his mother. “After I was there, I didn’t have a relationship with her,” he recalled. Entertainment tonight. “Even before [being] there, I don’t think we had a great relationship and I think it just wrecked it even more.”
At the time, Collin did not rule out a potential reconciliation, adding, “Unfortunately, we didn’t have a relationship. I think every son wants to have a relationship with his mom. But I’m fine.”
