“I also see the good in Hitler. I love everyone,” the 45-year-old Yeezy designer, speaking to Alex Jones Monday, December 1st at rolling stone. West added that he “did away” with the idea that people can’t say the Nazi leader did good things, arguing that “every man has something of value to bring to the table, especially Hitler’s.” Besides, Hitler was born a Christian.”
West reiterated his anti-Semitic sentiments throughout the interview, stating at one point that he “likes[s]Hitler. The “Flashing Lights” rapper has apparently retracted some of his opinions, saying he also loves Jews in addition to white supremacists.
The Chicago native first made headlines for his anti-Semitic comments in October after he tweeted: “I’m a little sleepy today, but when I wake up I’m going to die. [sic] ABOUT THE JEWISH PEOPLE. The funny thing is, I can’t really be an anti-Semite because black people are actually Jewish too.
Twitter quickly removed the post, resulting in West being temporarily banned from the platform. However, last month the Grammy winner’s account was reinstated by a new owner. Elon Musk.
West’s remarks were also condemned by his ex-wife. Kim Kardashian. “Hate speech is never normal or excusable,” the 42-year-old CEO of Skims tweeted in October. “I stand with the Jewish community and call for an immediate end to the horrendous violence and hateful rhetoric against them.” Several other members of the famous family, including Khloe Kardashian, Chris Jenner as well as Kendall Jenneralso shared statements of support for the Jewish community through their Instagram stories.
Kim filed for divorce from West in February 2021 after almost seven years of marriage. The couple have four children — North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3 — and their divorce was finalized Tuesday, November 29 after more than a year of settlement talks.
Days after his first tweet caused an uproar, West appeared on Piers Morgan uncensoredwhere he apologized to “the people I offended” with his comments, but added that he “absolutely” has no regrets about sharing the post in the first place.
“I will say that I feel sorry for the people I hurt with the d*ath scam. 0. I feel like I’ve caused pain and confusion. And I feel sorry for the families of the people who had nothing to do with the trauma I went through and that I used my platform where you say sick people hurt people,” he said at the time. “I was hurt.”
Following the backlash, several brands the Jesus Walks musician has worked with in the past have publicly cut ties with him, including Balenciaga, Vogue, Gap and Adidas. CAA (Creative Artists Agency) also ended their relationship with the producer. the 25th of October, Forbes West’s net worth is estimated to have dropped from $1.5 billion to around $400 million after he lost brand deals.
Amid the recent controversy, West announced on November 24 that he plans to run for president in the 2024 election. “Ye24,” he captioned a series of commercials posted on his Twitter account. Previously, he tried to run against Donald Trump as well as Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election
