The third episode of The Princess’s Diary Film Franchise It’s been confirmed but it’s possible that not all of the original cast will be returning. Julie Andrews, who played Clarice Rinaldi, the queen regent of Genoa in the Disney film, said she may not appear in the new film.
“I think we know it’s probably not going to happen,” Andrews said Access Hollywood.. “It was talked about very early on. [the second sequel] came out, but how many years has it been since then? And I’m so big and Annie the princess, or the queen, is so big. And I’m not sure where it will swim or run.

The Princess’s Diary Originally released in 2001, directed by Garry Marshall, starring Andrews and Anne Hathaway. The coming-of-age comedy was based on the popular Meg Cabot novel series with Mia Thermopolis, played by Anne Hathaway, at the center of the story. Mia is a teenage girl from San Francisco who discovers that she is the heir apparent to the throne of Genovia.
A sequel is called. Princess Diaries 2: The Royal Engagement Three years later in 2004, both Andrews and Hathaway reprized their roles. It’s been 18 years since the release of the sequel and Andrews doesn’t seem keen on returning to the franchise.
The details of the third film are not yet known but it is understood that the story will be a continuation of the past. Earlier this year, Hathaway expressed interest in making another one. The Princess’s Diary And also provided a solution for Andrews’ return.
“I’ll have more fun with it, I’m pulling for it,” she said Fun tonight. “If there’s a way to get Julie Andrews in, I think we’ll make it work. We’ll go to where she was and put a green screen behind her and just make it happen.
