James Gunn is apparently teasing the new member of the Guardians of the Galaxy in Tom. 3 Trailer

As soon as the trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy 3 came out, Marvel fans were quick to tear each frame apart. One fan on Twitter zoomed in on a screenshot of the entire team walking together and pointed out a new and very tiny character in the frame. In the background, between Mantis and Nebula, a tiny creature can be seen running on all fours, reminiscent of Grog from The Mandalorian if you squint.

twitter user @Stinky_Stinkr replied to Posted by James Gunn of the group scene and exclaimed “I SAW THIS THING CREEPING IN THE TRAILER, IS THIS WHAT IS IT?” It’s a fair question when a shot so clearly shows the Guardians of the Galaxy in their entirety. Why was this little creature shown in such a frame if it had no meaning to the story and to the Guardians?

Gann replied to this question by simply posting a grinning emoji, which definitely indicates that this creature will have some meaning. Several fans joined in their observations. pointing out the character’s resemblance to Grog and one user @Starlord_wassuming it might be Fila Wellwho is indeed among the Guardians of the Galaxy in the comics, but has yet to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Needless to say, Gunn didn’t talk about the new character at all, so he didn’t give anything away. However, this only stoked fans’ curiosity about what’s in store for them.
