We don’t know where the rumors came from, but it looks like Lady Gaga won’t be voicing Lilla in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Director James Gunn, who has always been open about answering fan questions, responded to a comment on his Instagram a message confirming that the actress is not the voice of the adorable otter. A fan asked the director, “Please tell me who is the voice of Lilla! Does it start with Ga and end with Ga? Let’s!” to which he simply replied, “It’s not.” While it would be special to get a mini Star Is Born reunion in Guardians 3, with Bradley Cooper and Gaga playing alongside each other, it seems like it was never more than a rumor. However, Gaga joining the MCU seems inevitable, as is the case with any Hollywood star on the list. Until then, comic book fans will have to make do with her role as Harley Quinn in Joker: Folie à Deux.
Not only that, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. talking to ET online, the director said emotions on set were at an all-time high, knowing that his time with Marvel was drawing near. Gunn filmed Guardians 3 and The Holiday Special at the same time, and he said that the latter’s filming days were akin to snowy days after the film’s emotional and serious tone. He also noted that the “Celebration Edition” introduced his favorite MCU characterso it will be interesting to see what he does with the heroes and villains in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
