Age is just a number, according to iman. The supermodel spoke about growing up and why she embraces change.
“It’s a very Western mentality,” the Somali-born catwalk queen, 67, said of her obsession with youth in her January 2023 magazine cover story. british voguewhich was published on Wednesday, December 14th. “I’m from Africa, we celebrate aging.”
Iman continued, “A friend told me that cosmetic surgery has grown, and that’s because [people] looking at themselves in Zoom meetings… I’m like, “If it bothers you, just raise your camera.” [so it’s titled down on your face]For God’s sake!” She added, “It’s really a Western mentality. It’s never been a problem for me.”

And while our brand positioning and advertising showcases a wide range of skin tones, I was admittedly pleased that Iman Cosmetics was named the beauty brand that filled the gap for black women because it was deeply personal to me… I didn’t mean to. . wait for a seat at the table… I just built my own table!”
In addition, Iman is the proud mother of daughter Zulekha Haywood, 44, and Alexandria Jones, 22. She shared her youngest with husband David Bowie.
