Ice Cube Says He Lost a 9 Million Role Because He Refused to Get COVID Vaccine

Ice Cube testified that he lost a hefty salary because he refused to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

“I turned down the movie because I didn’t want to get a motherf*cker,” the 53-year-old rapper told “Straight Outta Compton” on the Monday, Nov. 21, episode of “The Million Dollar Game” podcast. “I turned down $9 million because I didn’t want to get hit. Fuck this jab and f*ck you all for trying to get me to get it. I don’t know how Hollywood treats me right now.”

The NWA star clarified, “I didn’t turn around [$9 million] way down. Those bastards wouldn’t have given it to me because I wouldn’t have been vaccinated. I didn’t refuse. They just didn’t let me.”

Though Ice Cube didn’t name the movie on the podcast. Hollywood Reporter, Friday the actor had in mind the future Jack Black comedy Oh my gosh, no.

US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that “the vaccines are safe and effective” and “recommends COVID-19 vaccines for everyone 6 months of age and older and boosters for everyone 5 years of age and older if eligible.” CDC also notes that “vaccination against COVID-19 significantly reduces the risk of severe illness, hospitalization and d*ath if infected.”

The ‘It Was a Good Day’ artist joins a handful of other stars who have spoken out about their decision not to get vaccinated against COVID.

Aaron Rogers drew criticism in November 2021 after he was diagnosed with the coronavirus and revealed that he had not been vaccinated, despite previously saying he was “vaccinated” against the disease.

“It wasn’t some kind of trick or lie, it was the truth. If my statement that I had been vaccinated had any follow-up, I would respond like this: I would say: “Look, I’m not some kind of anti-vaccination supporter of a flat Earth. I’m a critical thinker,” said the 38-year-old Green Bay Packers quarterback. The Pat Mcaffee Show at that time. “I go to the beat of my own drum. I strongly believe in the autonomy of the body, [in the] the ability to make choices for your body, rather than agreeing with some awakened culture or crazy group of people who say you have to do something.”

While a few stars have spoken out against the vaccine, much of Hollywood has supported the vaccine.
