The first three episodes of the Harry and Meghan TV documentary aired on Netflix tonight, revealing little-known information about the couple’s early relationship.
It comes after a week of headlines about explosive trailers leading up to the premiere that seemed to promise a b*mbshell about the royal family.
However, the first half was mostly centered around the American couple’s relationship, preparations for their 2018 wedding, and Meghan’s first encounter with Prince William and Princess Kate, which she called “amazing.”
Here is what has been found so far:
Meghan and Harry met on Instagram.
In the first episode, Meghan and Harry revealed the details of how they met, which is a bit of a contradiction to what the Duke said earlier.
Harry told the BBC in 2017: “It was definitely a set-up – it was a blind date. It was definitely a blind date.”
But in the first episode released today, Harry said: “We met on Instagram.
“I was going through my feed and someone who was a friend had this video of the two of them and I was like, ‘Who is that?’
A friend later contacted Meghan to see if she was interested in meeting the royals, and after looking at “beautiful photos and environmental shots” on his Instagram feed, she agreed to a date.

Meghan was in London to attend Wimbledon and met Harry at a bar – and their romance almost ended before it even started when Harry was too late.
“I didn’t know him,” Megan said. “So [when he was late] it’s like “Oh, is that what he does?” No, I don’t. Guys who have so much selfishness that you think any girl would sit and wait for you for half an hour, I just didn’t care.”
But when Harry showed up red-faced, sweaty and visibly distressed at being late, Meghan forgave him and the rest is history.
After spending an hour together, Meghan “told him I had other plans” and left. But soon after, she became “very energetic and American” and invited him to dinner.
She was late this time, but by then Harry had become carried away.
“I wanted to see you again,” said Harry.
Harry’s subtle allusion to Kate
In the first episode, Harry mentioned his sister-in-law, the Princess of Wales, discussing how his relationship with Meghan differed from what the royal family expected.
He said: “I think that so many family members, especially men, may be tempted or willing to marry someone who fits the mold, and not someone you might be destined to be with.”
Adorable shots of Archie and Lilibet
Rare photos of Harry and Meghan’s children and the family’s home life have also been featured on the Netflix show.
In one adorable image, Prince Harry tenderly kisses baby daughter Lilibet on the nose as the newborn appears to be sleeping peacefully.
More cute shots show the little prince on a high chair wearing a tiny party hat, while Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Meghan’s mum Doria are all smiling broadly.
The show also released never-before-seen footage of the young man lying in his mother’s arms in a touching moment.
Harry Meghan paparazzi warning
On the second episode of the highly anticipated series, Meghan explained that during the early days of their relationship, when she was still living in Toronto and filming Suitsshe ran into a pack of “9 or 10” paparazzi as she left the flower shop.
“They all kind of blocked the cars, asking, ‘Hey, how are you Megan?
The next day, she told the filmmakers, she received very strict instructions from her new boyfriend.
“I remember (Harry) saying the next day, ‘You can’t talk to them,'” Meghan said.
“And I said, ‘I’m just trying to be nice, I don’t know what to do, I’ve never dealt with this before,’ and he said, ‘Yeah, but the British media say you love it.’ You are smiling. You love it.”
“Explosion”: first meeting with William and Kate
Also on the second episode, Meghan revealed the details of her “amazing” first meeting with Kate.
She said, “Even when Will and Kate arrived and I met her for the first time.
“I was in ripped jeans and barefoot.
“I am a hugger, I have always hugged. I didn’t know it could annoy a lot of Brits.”
“I think I very quickly began to understand that the formalities that go out are carried out inside.
“That there is a way to be front facing, then you close the door and go, ugh great, now we can relax.
“But this formality is maintained on both sides, and that surprised me.”
2017 engagement interview was ‘rehearsed’
Meghan chuckled at a flashback of her and Harry’s 2017 BBC royal engagement in the third episode of the couple’s Netflix documentary series.
The episode began with a flashback to Meghan and Harry’s memorable first TV appearance, which Meghan called “a staged reality show,” revealing that from their adorable photo op to their sit-down conversation, everything about the ad was “rehearsed.”
According to Meghan, from the beginning, they were “not allowed” to tell their true story when faced with questions about their relationship.
Multiple reports suggest that Harry and Meghan have been at odds with Netflix bosses in an effort to delay the show after a chaotic period for the royal family, including the Queen’s d*ath in September.
It is speculated that the couple wanted to push back the controversial series to 2023 due to backlash against the new series. Crownwhich chronicles the dissolution of Charles and Diana’s marriage.
A dispute has already been settled over the use of “fake” and “misleading” photographs, which have been debunked in detail, including one paparazzi photograph taken from Harry Potter premiere 2011
The next and last three episodes will be released in a week, on December 15th.
