It is one of the best action movies out there, and now blockbuster director Ridley Scott is returning to the Roman epic Gladiator with a sequel.
Rumors of a sequel to the historical drama have been circulating for five years now, after the director hinted at a possible script that would allow him to revive the world brought to life by Russell Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix.

And now, 23 years after the release of the original, the film crew began casting for the main roles in the new film. It is known that the shooting is scheduled for May.
The locations were chosen in the Moroccan city of Ouarzazate, which has earned a reputation as a favorite location for filmmakers for its dramatic scenery.
Plot details remain under wraps after an early idea written by rock star Nick Cave, in which Maximus Crow returned from the dead via a “portal”, was scrapped.
It is believed that the youth Lucius Verus, son of the Roman empress Lucilla, may provide a link to the original story.
There is hope that Russell’s character will appear in flashback scenes if he signs on for the role.
Maximus died at the end of the film and was seen reunited with his murdered wife and son in the afterlife.

The source said: “This building has been under construction since 2018 and for a long time it looked like it would never see the light of day.
“But all of a sudden at the end of last year, the production team really came alive after settling on a new script that seemed to inspire them.
“In a few months, everything was up and running, and now everything is in full swing.

Dermot Kennedy opens up about his romance with Canadian superstar Shawn Mendes.
The Irish crooner, who recorded his second No. 1 album with Sonder last year, was the opening act for singer Stitches on the North American leg of his world tour last summer.
However, Sean pulled out of the hike due to his mental health issues.
Supporting his buddy, Dermot said: “It was amazing to spend some time with Sean and see an artist of this stature perform in front of a huge audience and do what he does best.

She announced last night that her eighth album, Endless Summer Vacation, would be released on March 10, with Kylie Minogue cryptically commenting on the announcement on Instagram with a sticking out tongue emoji.
Rumors of a possible collaboration have been floating around for years, and in 2020, Kylie named Miley and Dua Lipa as two people she’d like to collaborate with.
The latter was achieved when Dua joined her on the Real Groove remix, so now her second wish could come true.
The first single from Miley’s album is called Flowers and will be released next Friday (13th).

STORMZY deleted his social media accounts again, just a couple of months after returning to Instagram and Twitter.
The rapper’s pages disappeared again, closing accounts for the first time in early 2020.
He returned in October, shared a number of posts and hosted several live streams on Instagram, but left after the release of his third album, This Is What I Mean.
Speaking earlier this year about the impact of the initial deletion of his accounts, he said: “It was a big turning point for me in realizing that there is an ego in a person that I need to kill because look how blessed we are.”
Then in November, he said he felt “too old” for that.
He explained, “I used to do it all the time, but now I’m a bit old. My hairline goes way back and my knees don’t buckle.

The actor, who played rocker and fake teacher Dewey Finn, said there was talk of a sequel as well as a new film from his band Tenacious D after 2006’s Choice of Destiny.
