GIRLS Aloud reunited in honor of their late bandmate Sarah Harding to raise money for charity.
Sarah passed away last September at the age of 39 after being diagnosed with advanced breast c*ncer.
The foursome, Cheryl Tweedy, Kimberly Walsh, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts, partnered with Primark to create a line of sleepwear to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Cheryl said: “Before Sarah died, we promised her that we would fulfill her wish to raise money for life-saving research to help identify young women between the ages of 29 and 40 who may be at risk for breast c*ncer without a genetic history.
“This campaign with Primark will raise a significant amount of money to help us deliver on our promise to her.”
Half of all proceeds will go to Cancer Research UK and the Christie Charitable Fund for Sarah Harding.
Before her d*ath, Sarah was treated at the Christie’s Hospital in Manchester.
In 2020, she was diagnosed with breast c*ncer. She praised the care she received from the NHS staff and told her Girls Aloud bandmates that she wanted them to continue fundraising on their behalf.
Announcing the range in Glamor magazine, Kimberly added, “It’s very emotional when the four of us come together to fulfill Sarah’s fundraising wishes.
“We really hope that we can make her proud and raise as much money as possible.
“In addition to fundraising, Cheryl, Nadine, Nicola and I will continue to do our best to raise awareness and encourage people to get regular checkups.”
Nicola continued: “We feel a responsibility to fulfill her desire to raise money that could prevent other women from being in the horrific situation that she found herself in.
“To take this baton is nothing short of a privilege. We really hope everyone enjoys the nightwear collection and joins us to raise as much money as possible.”
Nadine added: “We are grateful to Primark for this opportunity and for all the money they will donate to Sarah.
“Sarah would love this sleepwear line and we hope Girls Aloud fans will love it too.
“We miss Sarah every day and we come together to support this important cause because it will always be something close to all of our hearts.”
Last month, the group, which disbanded in 2013, announced they were hosting a fundraising ball on Sarah’s behalf.
The Primrose Ball will take place in London on Saturday.
Years & Years star Ollie Alexander will perform, as will Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde and Kaiser Chiefs vocalist Ricky Wilson.
In July, they also took part in the “Race for Life” organized in memory of Sarah in London’s Hyde Park.
Kimberly spoke about their plans: “The walk was really special. But we have a gala that we’ve been working on for over a year.
“Before Sarah died, we had a chat with her and she told us that she wanted us to raise as much money as possible for charity.”
