Kirstie Alley made a name for herself with a successful career in the TV industry, but she also made headlines about her personal life.
The actress was born in 1951 to Robert Deal Alley and Lillian Alley. Along with her two siblings, Colette and Craig, Kirsty grew up in Kansas before leaving for Los Angeles after her sophomore year of college.
Initially working as an interior designer, Kirsty made several appearances on game shows, including Match game as well as Password Plus. She later moved on to a career in Hollywood, especially in sitcoms such as Hooray, Veronica’s Wardrobe, Kirsty and more.

As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother.”
The social media post continued: “Our mother’s life and passion for life, her children, grandchildren and her many animals, not to mention her eternal joy of creativity, is unmatched and inspires us to live life to the fullest just like her. ”

Kirsty made her film debut in 1982. Star Trek 2: Wrath of Khan as Lieutenant Saavik. She did not ultimately reprise the role in future sequels, but continued to appear in films such as One more chance, blind date as well as Run away.
