Corsage, the IFC film that catapulted actress and director Mary Kreutzer into Oscar contention for the film shortlisted as Austria’s picture for best international film. Stewart is a big fan of the film, and explains how Krepps developed the idea and got the director ready to take on the film. They also discuss the importance of telling stories from a woman’s perspective. He also briefly touches on the shock of discovering that Florian Techtmeister, who plays Krepps’ husband, Emperor Franz Joseph, was accused of possessing child pornography. The actor, who has reportedly pleaded guilty, will go on trial on February 8 after being caught with 58,000 files of pornographic images of minors under the age of 14.
