Just days before confirming her shocking split from partner Chris Walker, Carrie Bickmore smiled while partying with friends at an exclusive concert.
Bickmore, 42, wore a floral summer dress with platform pumps as she smirked and posed for photos with friends during Sam Smith’s McLaren Vale performance.
Her group at last week’s 300-person event included SAFM breakfast host Rebecca Morse, Frankie Brale and Adelady founders Lauren De Cesare and Hayley Pearson.
It was Bickmore’s last public appearance before her joint announcement with Walker to end their relationship on Wednesday.
“Hello everyone. With great sadness [Carrie/Chris] and I decided to leave,” wrote the couple.
“Although this is a difficult time, we are focused on raising children, loving and supporting our three wonderful children, Ollie, Evie and Addy, with everything we have. They’re doing great.
“At this stage, we will not be making any further comments.”
Walker, executive producer of the hit ABC show Weekly with Charlie Pickeringa few hours later he went to Instagram again, thanking his friends for their support.
“Thank you friends, family and colleagues for this otherwise rubbish day,” Walker wrote on his Instagram stories, along with a hilarious photo of the kids he shares with Bickmore.
“I’m glad that I managed to finish it together with three of the best people on Earth. Your words and kindness (and food) were treasured.
“I haven’t answered all of you yet, but I will, and I love you very much.”
Walker and Bickmore met on set Project in 2012, two years after the TV presenter lost her first husband, Greg Lange, to brain cancer.
He became the stepfather of Bickmore and Lange’s son, Ollie, and in 2015 the couple had their first child, daughter Evie. Three years later, they became parents again with the advent of another girl, Adelaide.
At the end of last year, Bikmore announced that she was retiring from Project forever, citing the need for more “family dinners” as a major factor.
“After 13 years in ProjectI made the difficult decision to end the show at the end of the year. Making this call has been the hardest decision of my professional life, but it’s time for a new challenge and my next chapter,” she said.
“I will miss you so much. I will miss my best friends at the table, the very fulfilling work, the amazing audiences over the past 13 years.
“It’s no secret that this show has become my second home and I’m very grateful to everyone involved on and off screen.”
Bickmore said she didn’t know what her next professional move would be, explaining that she just wanted to spend more time with her family.
“It’s been a long journey. I started the show when Ollie, my son, was a year old and now he’s 15, it’s crazy. And I want to spend more time at home. I want more family dinners,” she said.
Bickmore joined Project when it was launched back in 2009 and won the Gold Logie in 2015.
