In an appearance on “CBS Morning” Andrea Savage spoke a little about her first experience with Stallone and how she took a risk by making fun of the legendary actor. “We read the lines for a bit and he said, ‘If I were more of a gentleman, I wouldn’t ask you about this’ or something like that… But then I thought, ‘Oh, are you a guy? who just talks a lot with his hands or something like that.” And I played a little joke on him, and it could have gone either way, and then he laughed, and then we sort of went to the races.” She went on to explain that she felt that the fact that both she and Stallone were writing and creating content in addition to the game was a common basis for forming a working relationship between them.
Stallone seems to take good-natured taunts with ease, as evidenced by another instance of Savage making fun of him. In the aforementioned interview on “The Drew Barrymore Show. Savage explained that she created a nickname for him on set, naming him “Bam-Bam” due to his tendency to sit down with all his weight at once and make a loud noise while doing so. It would seem that Savage’s teasing became the basis of the pair’s on-screen chemistry, and “King of Tulsa” wins because of it.
