Former Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman will also appear in the backdoor pilot of The Good Lawyer as Janet Stewart, a respected lawyer and partner at the law firm where McMann’s Joni works.
The backdoor pilot for The Good Lawyer will air as part of the current sixth season of The Good Doctor. Written by The Good Doctor co-showrunners David Shore and Liz Friedman, the episode will air on Monday, March 6 and will be directed by Venom and Uncharted director Ruben Fleischer. The backdoor pilot will reportedly follow The Good Doctor host Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) as he seeks a representative in a court case. When his mentor, Dr. Aaron Glassman (Richard Schiff), sends him to a law firm partially overseen by Huffman’s Janet, Sean surprises everyone when he chooses McMann’s Joni to represent him.
