As the year draws to a close, I want to share with you some of the best photos I’ve taken over the past ten years in places where nature has reclaimed abandoned spaces. I have always been amazed at how Mother Nature has a way of making herself known in the most surprising places despite our best efforts. Nature doesn’t need much space to thrive: give it an inch, and it’ll grow a mile! What could happen to our planet in a few decades to look like these pictures is also really interesting.
What would happen if mankind suddenly disappeared from the face of the earth? The concept of an answer has fascinated people since the dawn of time, and answers vary as our society changes and evolves.
As we face many challenges today (epidemic disease, deforestation, pollution, global warming, armed conflict), “Luxuria” reminds us of what our world could be tomorrow…
In this series of pictures, I invite you to travel with me into this post-apocalyptic world of your imagination!
